Have Courage. Be Kind.

Have Courage. Be Kind.
As we continue to navigate COVID-19, we thought we would take a few minutes to show some ways we are reaching out to our community to support those around us (at a safe distance, of course!) and share a few ideas as we all look for opportunities to focus outward.
Our stores mean more to us than just a means of business. They are a physical representation of our commitment to the communities in which they are located. Supporting local arts centers, museums, school programs, and local outreaches speaks to our core values of helping others and the world in which we live. But isolation doesn't mean we've stopped! Current efforts are ongoing as we reach out to needs locally and around the world, from ordering take out to sending aid to pearl farms.
Helping others looks a little different during this isolation period. Here's a few things we are doing personally and a few ideas to send a bit of inspiration your way.
1. Order from local restaurants. This week, we enjoyed pizza from the wonderful Pinky G's Pizzaria. Pink G's is a local favorite and one of the many favorites here at Pearls by Shari! Check out the local restaurants in your area; find something new or support an old favorite.
2. Take a neighbor some baked goods.
I don't know about you, but we've been in the kitchen more and more lately! Bake some goodies or make a meal to take to your neighbor. Small acts of kindness spread hope and light; someone close to you may need that uplifting act more than you think.

3. Send notes of encouragement and share social posts of small businesses you love. If baking isn't your thing, there's many other ways to help your local hang out or favorite retail brand. Liking, commenting, and reposting social media posts are a great way help local businesses.
I think Cinderella had it right when she said, "Have courage and be kind." May we all find the courage to navigate these challenging times with grace, and show each other some kindness along the way. In the words of our friends at Pinky G's - Stay safe out there!
